The ExpoAperture2: Depth Of Field Guide was developed to make this process much easier and much more accessible to the average user. While there are several versions, the one that I

Rob Haggart has looked at a lot of photographers’ websites. A LOT. As the former director of photography for Men’s Journal and photo editor for Outside magazine, he’s made many big decisions based solely on a photographer’s online portfolio. So it’s no surprise that the tagline for his new photography website company is, “It’s all about the images.” That idea is at the heart of APhotoFolio.com, which launched July 25 with websites from VII photojournalist Antonin Kratochvil and commercial car and motorcycle photographer Bill Cash. If you know who Haggart is, you probably know him as the creator of APhotoEditor.com. If you don’t know him, here’s the deal: He started anonymously

Sigma have released a new firmware update, v1.08, for the Sigma SD14 DSLR camera. Improvements include: 1. Corrects the occasional phenomenon of an image recorded in RAW format appearing to have an unnaturally large file size. 2. Corrects the rarely occurring error of camera freeze and image recording failure when shooting continuously or if the shutter button is pressed when the CF Card Busy Light is blinking. 3. When Bulb Mode is used Sigma Photo Pro now displays the actual shutter speed used in the exposure rather than just showing the word “Bulb”.

Adobe has launched version 2 of its Lightroom raw processing and workflow tool. The result of feedback from professionals and a public beta process, version 2 of the software follows the basic structure of its predecessor but with a variety of tweaks and additions. The most obvious change is an increased ability to make localized changes. This include a gradient tool that allows alterations to be applied selectively across an image. Adobe Camera Raw has also been updated with support for the Olympus E420 and E520. The local adjustment brush allows exposure correction, brightness, contrast, saturation, clarity, sharpening and toning to be ‘painted’ onto an image. The effects these painted

The 14.7-megapixel TL34HD features a 3.6x Schneider zoom lens with a 28mm wide angle (35mm equivalent), and a 3-inch, 460,000-dot touchscreen LCD. That model replaces Samsung’s NV24HD, and implements a new version of the Smart Touch interface that distinguished the NV series. Smart Touch 2.0 employs two sets of pressure-sensitive buttons located along the edges of the LCD to provide access to controls. Running a finger over a row of buttons lets you activate and navigate menus, or adjust settings with virtual sliders. The TL34HD also has an improved image processing engine. The 10-megapixel TL9 offers a 2.7-inch
