Every day here at Buy-n-Shoot.com we search the net constantly for the latest news items. However, in our day-to-day surfing we quite often come across links to various free software that could be quite useful to our visitors. So we’ve decided to create a quick list of them.   Before publishing links to the software we had a few simple criteria they had to pass: 1. Must be totally free to download 2. PMA launch for Sigma’s delayed DP1 camera
Sigma has finally launched its DP1 ‘high-end’ compact camera after a redesign and image quality issues led to lengthy delays. The DP1 features the same 14-million-pixel Foveon X3 imaging sensor as featured in Sigma’s SD14 DSLR. The DP1′s sensor measures 20.7mmx13.8mm. First unveiled in 2006 – as the world’s first digital compact to feature a near APS-C-size imaging sensor – the DP1 prototype underwent a redesign last year when a hotshoe was added. Billed as a ‘high-end’ model the camera had been expected out in the UK last May but, in a bid to make image quality on a par with Sigma’s DSLR range, the firm then changed the digital compact camera’s ‘entire image-processing pipeline’ –

Sony A200 review
Sony A200 review : The moment Sony took the step to take over the photo division of Konica Minolta, the photo industry was holding back to see which way the cat was going to jump. One was aware of the fact that Konica Minolta had a lot of in-house know-how and this know-how would not get lost with the take-over. With the introduction of the entry-level model, the Alpha 100, Sony established their name as D-SLR manufacturer. The CES 2008 offered the perfect moment to enhance the specifications of the Alpha 100. And with the Sony Alpha 200 introduced now, we bid farewell to the A100 that

Sony Develops Full-Frame 24.81-Megapixel CMOS Sensor

Photography - No Comments » - Posted on February, 4 at 11:52 pm

Sony has announced that it has developed a new CMOS sensor for digital SLRs that has the same imaging area as a frame of 35mm film and offers 24.81-megapixel effective resolution. The company says it will capture images with a broad dynamic range and high signal-to-noise ratios. Its full-frame 6.3fps scanning mode also promises to support fast digital SLR shooting modes. The bottom line: Full-frame digital SLRs from Sony and other manufacturers that use Sony sensors — notably Nikon — are surely on the horizon. Sony plans to begin mass production of the new sensor in 2008, which puts it on track for implementation in cameras that could be announced at Photokina 2008 in the fall.
