A new monopod aimed at sports photographers has been launched by Gitzo, including a model to celebrate the Beijing Olympic Games which start on Friday.
The Gitzo Series 5 Traveler Monopod measures 41cm when folded and 153.5cm when fully extended, according to Gitzo.
It weighs 780g and carries a claimed maximum load capacity of 25kg.
A special commemorative version featuring an ’888′ logo, to celebrate the opening of the Beijing Olympics, costs £249.95.
The standard version is priced £229.95.
It includes a rubber foot that can be replaced with an optional spike for use in ‘sand, snow or mud’.
