Casio Exilim EX-S5 digital camera : Casio is proud to release the Casio Exilim EX-S5, a digital camera with a compact body based on a new design concept, which makes high-quality photographic functionality simpler to use than ever before. Designed to fit the concept of “Sleek & Sturdy,” the Casio S5 has a compact form, measuring just 3.8” wide x 2.2” high x .7” thin. The edging that frames the body presents a light, casual feel, but at the same time gives the user the sense that this digital camera is tough and reliable. In addition, the camera color is not limited to a single hue. Rather, the control panel, frame, and rear casing boast contrasting colors, presenting a whole new idea in camera color schemes.

10 Megapixel Casio Exilim S5 offers 2.7″ LCD
In addition to offering the ability to reproduce a detailed image of the subject, the Casio Exilim S5 is very responsive and easy to operate. The camera has an effective 10.1-megapixel resolution, and delivers excellent performance. Images taken at high resolution can be enjoyed as beautiful photographs whether printed large or cropped before printing. The Exilim EX-S5 digital camera features an easy-to-see widescreen 2.7-inch LCD monitor. Shooting information is shown in an “operating panel” on the right hand side of the screen, which makes it easy to quickly change camera settings while shooting.

Widescreen movie recording on the Casio EX-S5
Just by pressing the movie button, widescreen movies can be recorded with an aspect ratio of 16:9. The camera also offers YouTube Capture Mode, which records and saves movies at the ideal settings for the world’s largest video sharing site, YouTube. Recorded video can be easily uploaded to YouTube using the special included computer software.

Casio Exilim EX-S5 features customizable photo frames
As well as the rectangular focusing frame usually displayed on the LCD monitor, users can choose designs such as a heart or a butterfly for the frame design. When the camera is correctly focused, a beautiful heart can be displayed, and when correct focus is not achieved the heart pattern breaks up. This makes it easy to ensure correct focus, and it is fun, too. Menu screens can be freely selected from a total of six colors – black, chocolate, cinnamon, rose, sky blue and olive green. As soon as a full production sample will be available you can expect a full Casio Exilim S5 review from us, including our usual test photos.

Casio EXILIM EX-V7 review

Camera Reviews - No Comments » - Posted on September, 14 at 2:48 pm

Casio Exilim V7 digital camera review : The name Casio makes most people think of watches and calculators, as opposed to cameras. However, this brand has been actively introducing diverse models since the beginning of digital photography. Indeed, Casio was a pioneer in digital photography and has held a large share of the market since the beginning, when the big traditional camera manufacturers still had to start. In the following years, Casio often introduced very good and unique digital cameras. When the famous photography brands Canon and Nikon arrived on the scene with their digital compact cameras, Casio’s market share declined enormously. In the following years it was evident that the German market share was the highest in Europe, but this was only a couple of percentages more than for example the Dutch or US share. What the ratios are now is not completely clear, but I can imagine that there have not been grand changes.

Casio Exilim EX-V7 – 7x Optical zoom
Casio is trying to increase its market share by introducing the new series Exilim cameras, and I must say that Casio has managed to, as always, introduce something innovative or at least unique. This is also the case with the outstanding Casio Exilim EX-V7 compact camera. To start with, the Casio EX-V7 is a slim camera, but most remarkably, it has an incredible zoom range for such a compact camera. It has a 7x optical zoom, which is equivalent to a 38 to 266 mm zoom. And that in such a compact model! To prevent movement blur, the Casio EX-V7 has a built-in image stabiliser; the image sensor can shift. On top of that, the camera has an Anti Shake DSP, so that as soon as the camera detects movement in the subject, it searches for the ideal ISO rate and shutter speed.

Casio V7 digital camera – Autotracking AF
The Casio Exilim V7 is a middle range digital compact camera with its 7 million pixels. This is more than enough for everyday photography, in fact, it is a standard resolution. The Casio Exilim EX-V7 has Casio’s newest processor, the Exilim Engine 2.0. This processor provides the camera with Autotracking AF, so that the autofocus follows the subject’s movement, controls for clarity so that dark photos are prevented, and controls for colour aberrations. Furthermore, colours can be corrected directly and placed in perspective. The processor is a valuable application, indeed.

Casio Exilim V7 compact camera – Design
Casio has managed to pack all these things into an ultra compact camera. The slimmest point of the camera is only 20.8 mm. The maximum dimensions are only 59.8 x 95.5 x 25.1 mm. It is a real compact camera, but it is solidly built, with a lot of metal in the body. The Casio Exilim EX-V7 is the first Casio that does not have an extendable lens. Thanks to the special lens construction, whereby light is led around a corner, they have managed to equip the camera with 7x optical zoom.

Casio Exilim EX V7 camera review
On paper the Casio is a very interesting camera. It took awhile before an actual sample was available for extensive testing, but we have had the Casio Exilim EX-V7 camera for an extended period of time in our test lab, and outside, to see if its specifications would hold up in practice. Our findings can be read in the next Casio Exilim EX-V7 digital camera review.

Casio 60 fps Digital Camera Prototype : Casio announced that it is developing an entirely new digital camera with hitherto unseen high speed performance and image capture functions that make the most of its cutting-edge digital technologies. The revolutionary Casio 60 fps digicam of the future will be able to take still images at an astonishing shooting speed, to catch fast-moving subjects at the crucial moment. The Casio Hi-speed camera will also take movies that capture movement so fast that it cannot even be seen by the human eye. The first Casio high speed camera prototype was displayed at the IFA, a consumer electronics trade show, in Berlin, Germany, where our team is operating and working to cover the show live.

Casio Digital Camera Prototype – Innovative and Display
Casio’s digital cameras have been setting the pace since 1995, when the company introduced the QV-10, a digital camera for personal use with an LCD display that played a major role in creating the digital camera market. In 2002, Casio commenced sales of the card-sized EXILIM series of LCD digital cameras, which feature superb portability and response speeds. Casio is constantly seeking to expand the market by delivering greater ease of use and the kind of innovative functions that only digital cameras can offer.

Casio Digital Camera Prototype – 6.0 Megapixel – 12x optical zoom
The prototype of Casio’s latest revolutionary camera features a new high speed CMOS sensor and a high speed LSI image processing chip. This 6.0 Megapixel, 12x optical zoom, high-performance digital camera prototype with CMOS-shift image stabilization function offers not only ultra-high speed burst shooting for still images, but also high speed movie recording.

Casio Ultra-high speed burst shooting
For still images, the Casio 60 fps digital camera achieves ultra-high speed burst shooting of 60 images per second at maximum resolution – the fastest in the world. Moreover, using Pre-shot Burst Mode, (a ultra-high speed continuous shooting mode that captures images from the scene prior to the moment when you actually press the shutter button), users can be confident they will never miss the most crucial photographic moment. The camera can also capture movies at VGA resolution at an incredible 300 frames per second, which means it can record movies for replay in ultra-slow motion, a function that has only been possible so far with a limited range of professional movie equipment.

Casio 60 fps Digital Camera Specifications
• Effective pixels: 6.0 million
• Imaging element: 1/1.8 inch high speed CMOS sensor (total pixels: 6.6 million)
• High speed burst shooting: 60 images per second at 6.0 million pixels, JPEG

Casio High Speed 60fps Camera Prototype – Release and Determination
The precise product release date, pricing, brand name and specifications remain to be determined. Casio Exilim EX-Z77 Review at Infosync

Cameras, Tips Tricks - No Comments » - Posted on August, 30 at 10:29 am

Infosync has a review of the Casio Exilim EX-Z77 and writes, “The EX-Z77 is slim, solid and practical, a camera you might find yourself taking everywhere. The lack of a dock is disappointing, but both novice and expert point-and-shoot camera users will find themselves satisfied with the size and speed of the device. Images left us wanting better quality, especially under low-light conditions, but the anti-shake features did help a bit, and the Best Mode scenes filled in the gaps in our camera expertise. The menus are a little confusing and could use a little feng shui, but for the most part this is a nice device.”

Casio EXILIM EX-Z60 review

Camera Reviews - No Comments » - Posted on August, 20 at 4:53 pm

Casio Exilim Z60 review : At the beginning of this year, just before the start of the PMA 2006, Casio introduced a series of new Exilim digital cameras, including the ultra compact Casio Exilim EX Z60 camera. This ‘credit card’ sized camera has extremely compact measurements, and the breadth of just 19.8mm (the thinnest point is even 16.2mm) will totally amaze many consumers. The Casio Exilim Z60 has a resolution of 6 Megapixels and a 3x optical zoom. The resolution is slightly better than that of its predecessor, the Casio Z50 and six Megapixels is the applicable norm nowadays. The recently introduced 10 Megapixel Casio Exilim EX Z1000 compact camera is proof that Casio has no intention of dropping out of this Megapixel race.

Casio digital compact cameras
During a press conference in Europe, the Japanese management drove the point home that Casio has been a player on the digital camera market for many years. Although many consumers connect Casio to watches and calculators, they are unaware that Casio pioneered the contemporary digital camera. The company made a digital camera for consumers back in 1995 and today Casio has sold many generations of digital cameras to consumers. The current Exilim digital camera was designed around the Exilim image processor and its emphasis is on its compact format, speed, energy saving aspects and quality – things that can always be improved.

Casio Exilim EX-Z60 – Compact format
The Casio Exilim EX Z60 compact camera has been available on the market for several months and was noticed immediately thanks to its predecessors. The Casio Z60 is a little camera that is particularly suited to photographers who want to capture a favourite moment quickly and easily. A camera like this should be no trouble to take along so that you can always have it on you. The Casio Exilim Z60 is one of Casio’s prize products and is intended to capture a greater share of the market for Casio. At the moment, Casio is very active in Germany where its 15% share of the market share puts it at the top, but looking at its share of the US market, (3%) you will see that there is a lot of custom to be won.

Casio EX Z60 – Exilim camera line
Casio knows how to surprise the camera market every time with innovative solutions and possibilities, altered versions of which often crop up later in competing models. The Casio Exilim Z60 is typical of the sort of camera that you use to take a quick snapshot and that you casually shove in your coat or trouser pocket. It is not a camera for hobby photographers and although Casio has gained a lot of knowledge in the field of digital photography, it has not yet been seduced into making a digital reflex camera. Maybe if it had a strong partner with experience in digital reflex cameras, it would wager a step in this fast growing seg-ment, but in the meantime, Casio is sticking to the compact Exilim line.

Casio Exilim Z60 review
The Casio Exilim EX Z60 leads the ultra-compact Exilim Z series of cameras. With its 6 Megapixels and 3x optical zoom, it doesn’t stand out immediately in this fiercely competitive market. In any case, the Casio Z60 has a strikingly compact design and must rely on its extensive inbuilt automatic software which gains it top marks for user friendliness and convenience. We tested the Casio Exilim Z60 thoroughly, you can read our findings in the following Casio Exilim EX-Z60 digital camera review.
